Andy Millard and Steve Barrowcliff recently spent the day in the company of 100’s of thousand pounds worth of state-of-the-art Hurco machines at a new demonstration facility, just off Junction 30 of the M1 in Barlborough, Chesterfield.

“We went to look at a graphite machine to improve manufacturing speeds and quality…” said Andy.

The all-new demonstration facility had specified Hurco machines for its cutting tool demonstrations. On show was a Hurco VMX30Ti high-torque, 12,000 rpm 3 axis vertical machining centre and a TM8i VDI, eight inch chuck, 2 axis lathe.

Additionally, CAD CAM specialists, Delcam were present demonstrating the latest Vortex milling software. The VMX30Ti was running a Vortex programme and cutting components using Dormer Tools.

Sales and Applications Engineers from all 3 companies were present throughout the day to discuss production requirements.
